8. Innocence

It was a normally peaceful evening this night when the tigress rested comfortably on her favorite couch. It was from a dreamless sleep she woke when she felt a light pressure from the cushions beside her. Had she not already recognized the scent from the form crawling ever closer to her body, she would have quickly rose up to defend herself. Instead she opened one eye lazily to the little form now inches from her head.
"What is it little Spiderling, why are you awake so soon before dawn?" she spoke with an almost aggravated growl.
The young black arachnid hesitated and began to think it was best not to aggravate a beast as large as Bangala. "Well, it's kinda silly- I uh, just had this scary pictures in my head while I was sleeping-"
"You had nothing more then a nightmare, Alex, " She interrupted. "It has happened to everyone."
"Really?" he said, slightly relieved. "Well that makes me feel a little better but I still don't want to be alone tonight. It may come back."
A smile would have appeared on her face if she could have. She soon tucked him under her wing, as soft and warm as any blanket. "You can spend the rest of the night with me if you wish Alex, if it truly makes you feel better."
"Yeah I'd like that a lot," he answered cheerfully.
